Alas Madam for Stealing of a Kiss

Alas Madam for Stealing of a Kiss

Original Text
British Library Egerton MS. 2711, fol. 31 (holograph); cf. Richard Harrier, Canon (1975): 138.
2Have I so much your mind there offended?
3Have I then done so grievously amiss
4That by no means it may be amended?
6Another kiss shall have my life ended,
7For to my mouth the first my heart did suck;
8The next shall clean out of my breast it pluck.

Che tal dolceza in quelli labri 'accolsi,
Chel spirto mio fú per fugirsi uia.
