Shakespeare's Sonnets: O me! what eyes hath love put in my head
Sonnet 148
Original Text
SHAKE-SPEARES SONNETS (London: G. Eld for T. T. and sold by William Aspley, 1609): i3v.
1O me! what eyes hath love put in my head
2Which have no correspondence with true sight,
3Or if they have, where is my judgment fled
5If that be fair whereon my false eyes dote,
6What means the world to say it is not so?
7If it be not, then love doth well denote
9How can it? O how can love's eye be true
11No marvel, then, though I mistake my view;
12The sun it self sees not till heaven clears.
13 O cunning love, with tears thou keep'st me blind,
14 Lest eyes well seeing thy foul faults should find.
