Shakespeare's Sonnets: Canst thou, O cruel, say I love thee not

Sonnet 149

Original Text
SHAKE-SPEARES SONNETS (London: G. Eld for T. T. and sold by William Aspley, 1609): i3v-i4r.
1Canst thou, O cruel, say I love thee not
5Who hateth thee that I do call my friend,
6On whom frown'st thou that I do fawn upon,
8Revenge upon my self with present moan?
10That is so proud thy service to despise,
11When all my best doth worship thy defect,
12Commanded by the motion of thine eyes?
13    But love, hate on, for now I know thy mind;
14    Those that can see thou lov'st, and I am blind.
