1 Some have learnt many Tricks of sly Evasion,
2Instead of Truth they use Equivocation,
3And eke it out with mental Reservation,
4Which to good Men is an Abomination.
5Our Smith of late most wonderfully swore,
6That whilst he breathed he would drink no more;
7But since, I know his Meaning, for I think
8He meant he would not breath whilst he did drink.
