Shannon Bramer, scarf (Toronto: Exile Editions, 2001): 40.
Somewhere between Pounding and Pushing
there is Thumping. It is almost like knocking
but rounder and flatter.
Thumping is involuntary. Light or Dark, Dawn or Dusk,
I feel myself thumping.
I remember the sound of the rabbit's red heart.
