Snow
Snow
Original Text
Edward Thomas, Collected Poems, with a Foreword by Walter de la Mare (London: Selwyn and Blount, 1920): 175. PR 6039 H55A17 1920 Robarts Library.
1In the gloom of whiteness,
2In the great silence of snow,
4And bitterly saying: "Oh,
5They have killed a white bird up there on her nest,
6The down is fluttering from her breast!"
7And still it fell through that dusky brightness
8On the child crying for the bird of the snow.
