Random Poem of the Day
You that no skill could stir, I feel you stirring
A restless ghost within my haunted side;
Your light feet thrust, your frail hands beat against me
Asking the life eternally denied.
You that I could not find, I wake to find you
Shadowy head asleep upon my breast;
Your image fades and I am dispossessed.
O child who did not cry, you cry forever
Through all my nights, and impotently I
Rock anguished arms, and try in vain to hush you
With stricken lullaby.
