2] Alfred Einstein's special theory of relativity predicts that time passes more slowly for those going at very high speeds than for those a relative rest. Faster-than-light travel may appear to contravene this theory, but the laws of physics allow for the possibility of worm-holes in space-time that would enable passage from one point to another much more quickly than light manages in conventional space-time.
