Robert Herrick (1591-1674)

Another Grace for a Child

              1Here a little child I stand
              2Heaving up my either hand;
              3Cold as paddocks though they be,
              4Here I lift them up to Thee,
              5For a benison to fall
              6On our meat, and on us all. Amen.

Notes

3] paddocks: toads.
